Viv May Gives Us Serious “Ear Candy” at The Snug Sessions

If you were anywhere but snuggled into the cosy bean bags at The Grand Union this Bank Holiday Sunday, I’m afraid you missed out.

Performing at the Snug Sessions at The Grand Union in Camden, Viv May shared a handful of brand new songs she’s been penning behind closed doors.

In a stripped back session, Viv and her ultra cool guitarist treated snugglers to an exclusive acoustic performance.

Starting off feisty, the audience was immediately drawn in by her tongue-in-cheek ‘Why Love?’ with lines like “…my sugar it’s been sweet, let’s not complicate it with three words” no doubt leaving more than a few people thinking:  Yep… been there!

Proving that alongside the sass, she’s just as soft as the rest of us, Viv debuted ‘Can’t Not Love You’ a song about the ever so familiar scenario – being strong and confident in the day but taken hostage by heartache when you’re alone in the evening.

Wearing a very sexy plunging lace bodysuit and leather trousers, it was only a matter of time before the audience was treated to a sensual number – The aptly titled ‘Persuasion’. With chocolatey low vocals and breathy high notes one audience member described it as “pure ear candy”.

Ending her set on a high, Viv performed ‘Don’t Make Me Say It’ – a fall-to-the floor original that left the audience with just one question..

When’s the next gig?
